Beschreibung

The starting point of this winter hike is the idyllically situated hamlet of Tarasp Fontana, below Tarasp Castle, the symbol of the Lower Engadine. From here the path runs along the little used road past the Trinity Church in the direction of Chaposch. From Chaposch we walk over open terrain with the Tarasp Castle in view. A short stretch runs through woodland before reaching the next hamlet, Florins. After this settlement of a few houses, the path again leads through unspoilt countryside, over meadows and through some forest to the next village of this winter hike, Tarasp Sgne. You can choose to end the tour here and take the PostBus back to Fontana or Scuol. If you want to complete the round trip, take the road and continue uphill to the last hamlet, Sparsels. Sparsels is characterised by Engadine houses with sgraffito, direct views of the castle and the gourmet restaurant of the Schlosshotel Chasté. Downhill and past the castle, the trail finally leads to Fontana, where there is a PostBus connection to Scuol.

The Schellen-Ursli shooting location: School

Schellen-Ursli’s school is located in Florins at "Chasa 112". The house is not accessible, but you can well imagine how the children would have had a snowball fight here, where they even hit the teacher... All filming locations of the Schellen-Ursli film can be found here.

Geheimtipp

As a landmark of the Lower Engadine, the Tarasp Castle, built in 1040, overlooks the region majestically. Tarasp belonged to Austria until the beginning of the 19th century. At the turn of the 20th century, the castle in desolate condition was purchased for CHF 20,000.00 by K.A. Lingner, a spa guest and inventor of the Odol mouthwash, and extensively renovated. His "residential castle" is still open to the public today.    Guided tours of the castle take place regularly (duration: approx. 1 hour).

Sicherheitshinweis

The trail is groomed after each snowfall. Please note the condition reports in the winter sports report. The tour was assessed in favourable weather conditions, current snow and weather conditions must be noted before starting.
