Another cultural jewel of the municipality is Paulin Nocla from S-chanf, a talented singer and musician who enriches the diverse streets of Tschlin with sgraffito with his art. Despite these artistic highlights, many houses in the community are empty, which indicates a change in the population structure and poses a particular challenge. Many of the historic buildings had to be restored over time. Around 70 years ago, a local construction company in Tschlin launched an initiative to revitalise old houses in new splendour. Almost every house underwent a careful renovation. The company was even inspired by ideas from the Upper Engadine and created unique sgraffiti that adorn the facades.

Local

In the past, the municipality of Tschlin was the proud owner of three taverns, the Hotel Macun, as well as three shops and shops that enriched the vibrant local life. Today, the community centre and the Café Spontan play a special role in village life. It is possible that these places, especially the Café Spontan, will be increasingly involved in the activities of the Chasa Tschlin in the future, when it becomes a new cultural centre of the village. In the midst of art, music, restored houses and living history, Tschlin is a place of cultural heritage and change.

Barns

All hay sites are south-facing. In earlier times, when ventilation systems did not yet exist, the sun played a decisive role. People's housing was of little importance at that time. They only had one stove in the Stüva, otherwise it was cold. About 120 years ago, people in Tschlin began to build houses with tin roofs, a tradition that originated in Austria. Previously, shingle roofs had been common.
