Chascharia Che Chaschöl

Quality instead of quantity, small but fine, that is the motto of the cheese dairy. Niche products made from goat, sheep and cow's milk are processed fresh every day by Chatrina Mair. The cheese is made exclusively from cow's, sheep's, goat's or buffalo's milk, and no milk from different animal species is mixed. In addition, the cheese dairy attaches great importance to regionality and short transport routes. It works closely with tourism, so that the products can be sold mainly in the region.

History

Until about 25 years ago, milk was delivered to Khasha's. At a time when 50 farmers still lived here – that was about 50 years ago. Today there are only eight farmers. Of these, two take care of dairy farming, while others keep goats and sheep. In addition, there are four suckler cow farmers. All farmers bring their milk to Chatrina and Peter Mayer in the cheese dairy, which transforms the milk into delicious cheese and yoghurt.
