The Swiss National Day is celebrated throughout Switzerland on August 1st. Since 1994, Samnaun has invited a prominent personality to give the celebratory speech. In 2025, we have the pleasure of welcoming Graubünden's President of the Government Marcus Caduff.

Marcus Caduff has been Head of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DVS) since January 2019 and is therefore the cantonal councillor responsible for cantonal economic, tourism and social policy.

The 52-year-old was previously CEO of Regionalspital Surselva AG and Head of Corporate Development at Kantonsspital Graubünden. During his time as Vice President International Business Development at Flughafen Zürich AG, he was in charge of corporate development in Europe and the Middle East.

Marcus Caduff is a qualified agronomist (Dipl. Ing. Agr. ETH) and holds a postgraduate degree in Management and Production Sciences ETH (MAS MTEC). He is married and has two daughters. He likes to spend his free time in the mountains of the Surselva - whether mountain biking or skiing.
