Beschreibung

The route leads from Samnaun village first short-term in the valley of the Schergenbach then in the Val Chamins along the Chaminser Bach upwards. Then over the Stammerjoch, which is exceeded at an altitude of 2657 m. The descent takes place over the field area Stamm with its magnificent mountain lakes into the Val Maisas and along the Maisasbach downhill back to Samnaun-Dorf. The little-used area with great views of the surrounding high mountains and the magnificent flora along the way make the tour a great experience for vertigo-free and sure-footed hikers with good physical condition.

Wegbeschreibung

The starting point of the hike is the center of Samnaun Dorf, where the road from the bus stop Samnaun-Musella and the parking lot reaches the village road (S). You continue on this and the following road up the valley and after a few meters you reach a sign "Samnaun. After this further upwards. You pass the junction of a path from the left. Continue straight ahead and pass a first turn to Val Chamins. Already here you can find the yellow spectacled beak, alpine roses, the forest stork's beak with its blue flowers and troll flowers with their spherical flowers. Then you reach the board "Val Musauna (1). Here you turn left after signpost Stammerjoch and climb into kehren. In retrospect, you have a beautiful view of the Piz Ott, the local mountain of Samnaun, beyond the valley. First you walk through light larch forest, from about 2000 m through alpine rose bushes. On the way you can also see the Great Handel Root and the Wound Clover. Continue through the Val Chamins east of the stream upwards. In the deeply incised valley there are sometimes remnants of avalanche snow until the summer. On the opposite side of the valley rises the Piz Chamins and the head of the valley crowns the majestic Stammerspitze with 3254 m, whose less steep flanks are often still covered by snow even in summer. After a steeper climb next to a waterfall you reach a leveling (3), which is suitable for resting. In retrospect, you can now see the Piz Munschuns next to the Piz Ott and in the distance the Grüblekopf. Afterwards wanders through dense stands of silverroot, which can be recognized by their 8 white petals. In between stands the bright blue gentian. Then the increasingly steeper ascent runs again in serpentines and over heavily weathered rock. The path is earthy, but also crosses large plates, which are a bit slippery in wet conditions. Then you reach the Stammerjoch (4) at an altitude of 2657 m. The best view is from a small elevation. From right to left you can see the Stammerspitze, the Muttler, the Piz Malmurainza and the Piz Mundin.

The descent takes place via mats first again in serpentines. In the field area Stamm one reaches a leveling with several picturesque lakes. (5), where a rest is offered again. Here you can see the Stammerspitze, the Muttler and Piz Motnair east of the Val Maisas, but also on the mountains beyond the high valley of Samnaun and up to the Hexenkopf in the area of Serfaus in Tyrol. The flowers in the immediate vicinity are also worth seeing. You can find, for example, the yellow Peter's beard, the pink flowering flour primrose and the woolly grass, whose white-woolly fruit stands are reflected in the water. Often you can also observe marmots. The further descent leads to the valley floor, where the water collects from the mountain flanks and makes its way through the debris streams. At a fork in the road (6), the route turns right to Fuorcla Maisas, Red Seeli and Muttler. Continue down the valley after the samnaun signpost, on the right side of the Maisasbach, crossing side streams. Then you reach a hut with a well. In this area of the path you can occasionally observe the golden eagle. After the hut, a gravel road is walked. This leads to a fork in the road, where you continue straight ahead after the Samnaun signpost. After a parking lot, a road leads to the center of Samnaun village (S), where a road leads down to the parking lot and the bus stop Musella.
