Über den Piz Munschuns

The route starts at the mountain station of the cable car on the Alp Trida Sattel. A steep but safe trail leads to the summit of Piz Munschun (2657 m). Here you have a great view of the valleys, the surrounding Samnaun mountains and As far as Austria. From the time after the snow melts until late summer, a species-rich alpine vegetation impresses. The path leading via Unteralp to Laret or to the Bustation is partly very steep and secured by ropes. It should therefore only be walked by sure-footed and vertigo-free mountain hikers in drought. The descent back to the cable car is on the route of the ascent.

After leaving the cable car (S), you pass the Alp Trider Sattelbahn to a signpost below the Sattelbahn and follow it in the direction of Piz Munschuns, Unteralp, Laret. After crossing the saddle track, a hill is first climbed. Continue on a small ridge to the summit slope of Piz Munschun. Here a narrow, stony but easily accessible path with numerous hairpin bends leads upwards and to the grass-covered summit (1) with a large cross and summit book.

The descent takes place initially largely over mats on footsteps, whereby the marking is usually attached to piles. At first, the route runs largely in an easterly direction, then a ridge is walked in a southeasterly direction. After a few hairpin bends, you go down a slope in a northeasterly direction, with some places secured by a rope. You reach a fork in the road (3) in Unteralp, near which there is a geotope in the form of a monolith. Here you turn right after signpost Laret further down the valley. At a subsequent fork in the road, turn right onto footsteps, then continue downhill along the Mühlbach. At the next fork in the road (4) straight ahead on the same side of the Mühlbach until another fork in the road at a bridge. After Laret you go right over the bridge, after Compatsch keep left. Straight down, a path leads to a road that leads to the main road and bus stop (5).
